Extech SL400 Personal Noise Dosimeter with USB Interface
The SL400 is a compact personal noise dosimeter with USB interface, designed for measuring and recording sound exposure over an 8-hour period (or longer) in compliance with occupational noise standards.
Description
This instrument is engineered for personal noise exposure assessments in workplaces where employees are routinely exposed to loud sound. It supports both accumulated dose measurements and sound-level monitoring, enabling compliance surveys with standards such as OSHA, MSHA, DOD, ACGIH, and ISO.The unit logs up to 999,999 readings (when used in sound level mode) with sampling intervals from 1 second up to 24 hours. The dosimeter supports weighting options (A, C, Z) for frequency, and it measures peaks, sound exposure levels (SEL), equivalent continuous sound levels (Leq), and more. It comes with a clip-on microphone, windscreen, belt clip, 9V battery, software, USB cable, and carrying case.
Features
-
Measures frequency-weighted noise exposure and peak sound-levels (C & Z weightings).
-
Data-logging capacity up to 999,999 readings when used as sound level meter; sampling intervals from 1 second to 24 hours.
-
Sound level mode displays: sound level (SPL), min/max, Leq, SEL, peak values.
-
Adjustable measurement parameters: criterion level, threshold level, exchange rate (3/4/5/6 dB), user-defined measurement setup.
-
USB interface with Windows-compatible software for setup control and data retrieval/real-time analysis.
-
Supports standards for occupational noise exposure (e.g., OSHA, IEC, ACGIH) and provides compliance capability.
-
Lightweight and wearable: belt-clip, external mic with cable, windscreen included.
-
Wide measurement ranges: e.g., 30-90 dB or 50-110 dB (for C/Z peak higher) with accuracy of ±1.4 dB at 94 dB/1 kHz.
